Laborer Foreman

Tekton Construction specializes in providing laborer services as a union company. As a Laborer Foreman, you will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects including operating a variety of hand and power tools, cleaning and preparing job sites, performing demolition work, cleaning up rubble and debris and removing waste materials. You may also assist other craft workers.

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for Laborer Foreman role:

• Demonstrated successful experience as a Laborer (see requirements and responsibilities of a Laborer role in the Laborer job description).
• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.
• Attending daily workflow / coordination meetings and staying connected to the job site superintendent.
• Ordering and organizing tools and materials on projects with coordination with the General Laborer Foreman or Field Manager.
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
• Identify tasks and required resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs.
• Enforcing the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures.
• Understanding and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites.
• Communicating regularly with field superintendents, clients and architects to understand changes and then communicating those changes to the rest of the crew.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Daily documentation of work and changes in the work.
• Management/approval for crew members timecards.
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform duties as identified and tested with Worksteps pre-hire program.
• Regularly reporting project status to supervisors and other officials.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Capable of leading and communicating with field superintendents, co-workers, clients, architects and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with labels, safety warnings, and guidelines required by the SDS/GHS program.
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safe work practices.
• Deadline driven and organized with an aptitude for quality workmanship.
• Self-motivated leader and doer.
• Ability to work independently and complete activities according to the work schedule.
• Training and Certifications required.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma is an asset.
• Current union member or would like to join a union.
• Demonstrated successful experience as a Laborer and all that is required of the Laborer role.

Position reports to the General Laborer Foreman or Field Manager.
