Carpenter Foreman

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for Carpenter Foreman role:

• Demonstrated successful experience as a Carpenter (see requirements and responsibilities of a Carpenter role in the Carpenter job description).
• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
• Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs.
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures.
• Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites.
• Communicating regularly with client and architects to understand changes and then communicating those changes to the rest of the crew.
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
• Regularly reporting project status to supervisors and other officials.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Capable of leading and communicating with co-workers, clients, architects and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
• Deadline driven and organized with an aptitude for detail.
• Self-motivated leader and doer.
• Ability to lift, rotate, push, and pull 50 pounds.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma is an asset.
• Current union member or would like to join a union.
• Demonstrated successful experience as a Carpenter and all that is required of the Carpenter role.

Position reports to the Tekton Field Superintendent – Carpentry.
